Got a new tank painted and was going to get a new petcock for it. Was going aftermarket as i can get one for $30. I have external threads from the tank, but i dont know thread size. Are they 22mm as are harley? It's on a 05 ridgeback.

Hey thanks very much everyone! i prob got to use a dye on my threads then. I bought a 22mm nut, but seemed to catch after a few threads. Prob just has crap on them from paint n body work. Thanks so much.

What was the conclusion here? I'm making a custom bung and need the 22mm thread pitch. It's not 1.0 like I thought, it doesn't match any metric threads, but measures out at 24tpi (standard). The outside diamater is metric though, 22mm, so are they 22mm with 24 tpi? This is making me nuts tonight. I have a cool idea for the petcock but I'm gonna have to make the parts.

I'm not sure Moe but Pingel has pretty good info on their site. Mine is the other one that BDM used (EMC?).

Pingel Power-Flo Fuel Valve Positions

Scroll to the bottom and it mentions something about 14 TPI.

I sent an email to Pingel, thanks Ray. 14 tpi refers to the pipe thread type petcocks. The 22mm seems to have a standard straight thread, and 14tpi is way too course. It actually matches up with a standard 24tpi but it'd be the first time I ever saw a metric OD with a standard thread spacing.
