After having some issues with the dog shutting off and not being able to identify the problem after changing out the ICM and cam sensor, i have decided to switch to the wire plus. I went to check up on the bike today and the mechanic found a black, red, and yellow wire that run along the frame of the bike just under the tank and saw that these wires were peeled. One of the wires is 12v, so after testing it, he found out that was the problem why the bike was shutting off. Since i already have the wire plus, I'm going to install it and i guess that the EHC is good. So i am going to sell the EHC to who anybody that needs one, just let me know.

I been through issues and fixed several little things where mine was neglected before I got it. The best thing I did to it was the Wire Plus and the ignition switch. You will ride with a lot more confidence in your scooter when you get it in there , I guarantee it. If cabo san lucas was close to Tennessee I would put it in there for ya, after the first one tis really pretty easy with Jake's diagrahm and help..

I have almost 6,800 miles on mine now, new back tire tommorrow!!! and a great video if I could ever figure out to put it on you tube ,, I know it sucks right now but you will be happy you went on and did the wire plus once it is over,,, I think I can lean mine into the curves faster now too !! :D

Have a great weekend ,

If you lived close by I would install the wire plus for ya,seriously.Doing stuff like that and over polishing my scooter with silver polish is a stress reliver for me. I over analized it and took too long doing my own but Jake's instructions are very good. You will be glad you are riding with the wire plus VS that ech. I think, my opinion big dog should have had to do a recall on every one they ever installed.

Make sure you get all those little wires taped and numbered as you cut them off if you have trouble seeing them, especially the red wires close together. You just need patience after that ,,

Havea great weekend ,

Hope it wasnt the gas cap vent?????:2thumbs:
Oh that would "Suck" if it was only the the gas cap vent,,,But I still think it is a good deal getting the Wire plus up and running even if it was the gas cap vent,,,, I believe the ech's on all these scooters have a limited lifetime and will all eventually have to be replaced.

I wish I had replaced mine before it shut down 60 miles from home, running 75-80 mph, a very hot day.

But thanks again to a former Army Ranger:flag: that was at the poker run I was headed to that day that heard someone say there was a rider broke down on the interstate coming to the poker run. He immediately went home and got his truck and trailer, and came to get me home. He didn't want to take any money even for gas, but I eventually got him to take it.

He showed up as I was pushing my daughter down the side of the interstate towards the next exit as we were approaching a slite grade upwards, very hot, etc.....

That really like 100% "Sucked",, worst than if had been the gas cap vent,,, until I got the wire plus installed a couple weeks later I regretted not doing it sooner,,

I can say suck and variations of suck cause I heard our preacher say it from the pulpit this year,,,,:D

Do the Wire Plus and ride with "Confidence"!!!!!

Hey Ray,

Can't agree with you more. Never had a problem with my EHC but had Moespeeds install a Wire Plus just for the peace of mind.

I had to pick up a friend of mine twice because of EHC issues.....not a good feeling hoping your bike won't crap out on you

Can't be the gas cap vent in my case because those peeled wires were the source of my problem. Although i want to prevent a gas cap vent problem in the future, what is the fix for that? Replacing gas cap?
