I dropped a nylon sunglass case on mine. I used a wooded popsicle stick with the bike running, to scrape it off. Worked great.

You can use oven cleaner let it set for a few minutes then take a plastic knife and gently scrap if off. Then use chrome wax to finish it up. I had a glove melt on my pipe and was told to use oven cleaner and wow it did the job without hurting the chrome finish.

Just don't use any chrome polish with abrasive in it. It will dull the area.

X2 on the oven cleaner. Burned my chaps on the pipes. Makes sure pipes are hot and dont get any cleaner on your paint when you spray it. I also Sprayed Oven Cleaner on a microfiber cloth and wipe the stuff off. It will take some elbow grease

If you get to it soon enough just take a clean white piece of terry cloth to while the pipe is hot rub it very hard.

I got a place on my pipes where someone's britches got fried on them. I leave it on there to keep me from ever being tempted to wear shorts pants, and I don't wear those latex drawers,,:D
