metal flakes in my oil

I did my 5000 mile service today. When I pulled the oil plug there were a lot of metal flakes stuck to the magnet. I've already done a 1000 mile and 2500 mile service without any metal flakes. Any thoughts or advice?

Metal flakes! Sounds like its giving you what you need for a cool Paint job!! I know, NOT funny, but I would put in a new filter, change the oil, listen for unusual engine noise, and see what it looks like next oil change.

That's what I was afraid of. I'm gonna put 1000 miles on it and do another oil change to see if it's still happening.

And which oil did you find flakes.

It is normal to find flakes, especially for the first 7k. Further, the primary is also common due to the clutch plates.

No worries.
