Baker warranties on Big Dogs

Do you know who you talked to? I am sure the short response wasn't on purpose nor directed to you personally. After 5pm EST we only have one guy on phones till 7pm. Things can get very busy between those hours for one guy. However, I would like to figure out what is going on. Are you currently having issues with your transmissions? Please advise.

Why is he the man...My tranny shaft broke and it cost me $ 1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe due to he and Baker has helped many on here and others. He also seems to be trying to at least find out your situation along with many others and maybe, just maybe could help you.

Many have asked what is the trouble or was the trouble with very little information. Your last post indicate that a tranny shaft broke and it cost you $1k.

Sorry to hear that and not sure what you dealing with Baker have been.
What I do know is Scott is right, the tranny coverage was 2 years in the Big Dog, if you were an individual purchaser of a Baker, then 5 years would be good, but it is pretty clear in the O&M Manual from Big Dog in the warranty section about the coverage.

Good luck getting it fixed if it not already, but beating up on Baker's 5 year warranty that does not apply to Big Dog installed trannies is not going to fix it any quicker. I guess it would be like going after JBL if my Nav system in my truck broke instead of the manufacture of my truck!

Iggy, im with you. I have had nothing but Badd luck with my Baker product, 2005-2006 are the he worse from what i read. I feel it is a lemon and probably will never have peice of mind with it. I have had the clutch carrier broke and repaired on BDM warranty. I have had tranny bearings go out, suck primary fluid into the tranny, and tranny rebuild on my dime. 1000 miles later the mainshaft broke now its been at baker for 2 weeks. I just ordered a bandit clutch and carrier.

With as many problems people have had im surprised there has been no class action suit filed against them. I guess no one has died yet ? never forget the word YET !

ITS NOT Scotts fault ,,,,,,,,,,,he is just a worker bee

Clay, give me a call when you get a chance.. The phone number you gave me is incorrect.. Just tried calling, your transmission is ready to be put back together.

If the warranty is what Iggy is bitching about then Fiber answered it exactly. If what he is saying is that the tranny is a a piece of junk then that's an opinion and you are certainly entitled to it.

From the way your posts are worded just so nicely on this thread,I can only imagine how you talked to the people over the phone at Baker and am simply amazed at the fact that anyone could be soooo short and sweet with you!!!!!!!
IMO problems get solved easier if you learn how to talk with people humanely, and also have all the facts straight......

I was professional and polite, but I had to get him to write down my name and # before he quickly passed me off as a NO on the warranty. No response from there, only one/two on here. What ever happened to courtesy call-back?

If either of you guys need help with the trans I would be glad to help.
I would have to get some parts from baker but the bearings and some of the seals I can get other places. I can help you with a rebuild or just info if needed.
