Being that I'm from KANSAS, I gotta say...#5.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME! :loony:

Yes the Flint Hills are cool. But other than that, this state is FLAT and surrounded by nothing but wheat fields.

And how is Colorado not even on the list...?
I like driving the mountains in a car, let alone a bike!
i agree there is a huge area western kansas/eastern colorado that holds nothing but maybe a antelope and a lizard:lol:

Wow, no way. Saw the title of the thread and said to my wife "Know Kansas wont be mentioned." taking off for a trip in 4 days just to drive through Arkansas and Missouri. Colorado was the best I have ever ridden, with Arkansas right behind.

That is SO true!!
Don't forget the tumble-weeds the size of cars.

You can literally get on I-70 at KC, turn the car west and hit cruise control, jump in the backseat for a nap, and 8hrs later end up in Denver!

@BBChopper: There may be a few more hills on the Missourri side of KC i'm not familiar with.

Not unless there is a landfill.:lol:When I work in KC I always stay at the casino near the river to avoid landslides and avalanches!

Tennessee 15th ?

Nothing against Florida (love rideing there during bike week), but I like the mountains (except winter). Our area (East Tn) has good riding in all directions.

Virginia Motorcycle Roads and Trips
Virginia (VA) "is for lovers" and motorcycle lovers will especially love this state as it has become one of the best motorcycle road states in America ... rich in beauty, history, and amenities! Motorcycle rider's menu of scenery will include the Appalachian mountains, the Shenandoah Valley, and 112 miles of Atlantic coastline. The historical attractions include the country's first permanent English settlement at Jamestown, and some of the most important battlefields from both the Revolutionary and Civil wars (ex. Fredericksburg, Yorktown).

Hmm everyone has a opinion

Virginia is definitely beautiful. Im bias of course, being from there and, plan on retiring there.

Gotta say though, Utah has a little of everything. Canyons, high speed, & low speed. Mountain tops nearly 2 miles high, long straights out in the desert, etc. The road conditions themselve aren't as good as Virginia roads but, I can literally be in a number of different canyons within 15-30 minutes of casual riding.... not to mention down south where Shovel lives...! Its beautiful down in So Utah as well.

This is nothing more than a list of the states that progressive pays out the least and has nothing to do with what riders look for when riding.

Yeah Knotso, I don't think you're too far off on this.

I wouldn't put a whole lot of faith in this survey. You've gotta decide for yourself what & where constitutes good/bad riding.

But..I do agree with a couple things (from my own experience)...AZ & FL in the Top 3 :2thumbs:, and IL in the BOTTOM 3! :nonod:.....

Not sure I agree with this list. Kansas #5? Are they kidding? The entire state is flat and every road straight as an arrow. EASY riding, yes...but one of the best?
AND have you seen the size, variety, and content (ugly Yellow Shit) of the Bugs in Kansas!!

From the pictures Shovel has showed us of Utah...i really cant see how that dips to 20.......
I totally agree!

The best place to ride is wherever I'm riding at the time. I've been through most of America and every State has it's advantages and disadvantages.
EXACTLY! Happiness is NOT a Place, Its your State-of-Mind! (and when I'm riding, I am usually in a REALLY GOOD State-of-Mind!!:2thumbs:

I agree with Knuckles and Roof, that Utah should be higher on the list. Colorado too! I love our USA!

I can't believe Minnesota didn't make it. Except for the long 9 month frigid winters, the torrential rains and flooding during the spring, the bridges that collapse on major interstates, the poor roads, high gas costs and stupid, obnoxious, dumber than a box of rocks drivers, Minnesota has probably ten or fifteen nice sunny days...just not in a row of course!
