I had some nasty bootmarks on my pipes and was worried about scratching the chrome when trying to remove. I heard about this product called roadrub. It took me a while to find it, but wow, it is super easy to use. It took the bootmarks and scuff marks right off without damaging the chrome at all. It looks like a little deoderant stick. It only cost five bucks and the results are just amazing. Just thought I would share that incase someone had never heard of it like me.

I had to email customer support from there website roadrub.com and they emailed me a link to some store that shipped it to me in 2 days. Not bad. If I find the link I will post it.

Elguapo, thanks man, I ordered some for me since I keep on getting boot marks and burnt pant marks on my exhaust. Sure to leave those fried pants marks first time your pants leg brushes against the exhaust.
Thanks, BBD

Just something that has worked for me is get the pipes good and hot and take a clean white terry cloth and just rub the marks right off.

Last Labor Day I bought a rain suit from BD. (Cause it was 'cute' and had the BD logo on the back.) It has this crappy plastic "burn shield" on the inside of the pant legs that melt directly onto the pipes. I used rubbing compound and it came right off, but I'm not going to be wearing those SOB's again!

I had one of those crappy plastic rain suits once. It was hilarious. I too had a burn mark on the leg and while I was riding, the legs started to shred. First one and then the other. There they were flapping in the wind. Then the arms started to shred at 70 mph. The next rest stop on the freeway, we stopped. I got off the bike and I looked like I went through a shredder.

It was hilarious. I wish I could find the photos of that. It was just an el cheapo rainsuit. No big loss, but lots of laughs from the folks at the rest stop.

Semichrome polish will take burnt rubber right off of an exhaust pipe as long as the pipes are still hot. gotta be careful, you can burn yer fingers pretty easily.

Just keep gooping it on when it sizzles off and keep rubbing with a soft cloth.

Learnt that working in my first Harley dealership by gawd!

Reynolds wrap was a great idea. I've been riding around with marks all over my pipes from a burnt terry cloth for a month now. Tried 3 different compounds to get it off and the 99 cent roll of tin foil takes it off.
Thanks for the tip.
