Boris, sorry to hear u r having problems with your mastiff. I bought my mastiff used and for two straight years i have had no issues. This year i had my first issue with third gear and i should b getting my tranny back next week from Baker. My Big Dog is the best motorcycle i have ever owned, has the looks, speed and it is set apart from the crowd. If worse comes to worse and u ever want to get rid of yours let me know i can always add another one to the garage! But i suggest keep working at it and it will come around and your next posts will be of all about all tbe rides/pictures u r going to be posting. Keep the Faith,

Perro Grande

Bubblehead...I spoke to BDM Performance parts in a very professional and curtious manner.
I explained how disappointing I was with the looks/condition of the starter and how ridiculous the 25% re-stocking fee was.
In all fairness Adrian from BDM performance parts politely told me that when I purchased the starter I was told it was reconditioned and that the exterior could have minor blemishes but the internals were all new.
I greatly disagree with him because my old starter looked perfect compared to the BDM manufacturer starter...The rubber boot on it was dry rotted and already cracked.

I then politely told Adrian if that's your companies policy then I'll be very hard pressed to spend my money with you in the future....He e-mailed me the return form and it was the end of the conversation! Sorry no pictures...It's all ready packaged up

So my out look is this.....the $93.00 isn't going to brake me...That's life....
BUT...When I get F---ED...I like to get kissed...And BDM performance parts isn't kissing my ass.

I got money to spend....And if that's the way they would like to treat there customers......I'll give my hard earned Benjamins to another guy / company....... If I have to buy something from them I still will......Lets face it ..there are parts that they sell that NO one else has....That's life.
Cheers
That's my 2 cents

PS

Today I got a promotion at work :) $$$$

I also got a new Guardian bell from my girlfriend

So maybe my luck will turn around..I'm as positive as they come..Negative thoughts breed negative people...And that is not ME!!!

Boris, I agree with you brother!!! Big Dog should be out there ready to assist and help all and any of there loyal Dog Owners! After going in the hole and re-opening as Big Dog Preformance Parts, as owners we are ready to help them get a new foot hold and succeed but if their going to act like a bunch of greedy money hungry ideates, putting out less then quality parts, then by all means, I will also take my busness somewhere else as well!

Belive me, I have had my share of trouble with my 08 K-9, only 3K plus miles. I wrench on that bike more then my other two Harleys put togeather, my 07 Soft Tail Custom has over 28K miles on it and never a problem. At one time I did have a question on my S.T.C. after being setup on the dyno at the local Harley Dealer and they stood behind their work, NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!! They came and picked my bike up, re- dynoed the bike, didn't cost me one red cent!!!

Big Dog Preformance Parts sould be kissing our ASS because if it wern't for us Dog Owners they wouldn't even EXIST AT ALL!!!!!!

Just My ---- :zz2cents:

I went to the website and sent them a message telling them the word on the internet is they have a 25% restocking fee and I asked them to please reply and asked them to state their policy on returns. No answer yet and that was 2 days ago. Go figure.

I don't think BDM Performance is even run by big dog affiliates. When a business goes out they liquidate all there shit to whoever will buy it. BDM performance is selling what they have and when its gone its gone.
My chopper is my daily driver and I love the bike. There's no other bike I want. I'm frustrated as hell with this situation and thankfully I have friends that that have been there too. Boats and cars aren't much different in regards to shit that don't work and can't be fixed. We have two options now 1. suck it up and make it run or 2. ditch it...and those are hard options when when we already sank the money to buy it. My starter is f'd right now too. It was rebuilt 3 weeks ago and its still f'd. Good luck all

I had seen starters Chris from BDM posted on eBay before BDM went bankrupt. At least on the eBay ad it said "rebuilt with some minor blemishes". I'm sure others that comb eBay a lot for parts had seen this also. Did you pay with a credit card? If so dispute the charges and when the money gets pulled back out of their account they may be more willing to work with you.

Electrical

FYI
I ordered a re-manufactured starter from BDP performance parts.
Cost $373.75
When I finally got the starter which looked like garbage...My mechanic told me that it wasn't needed..So I call BDM Performance and asked how to return it...
They told me there was a 25% restocking fee on a used re manufactured part!!!!! That's $93.44...:job:
HOLEY SHIT!!!!
And let me tell you..it looked like Shit..Beware
You should of asked on this site first where to get a starter.Second being electrical most places do not like taking things back. But I would keep it we bought a extra starter for the K-9 I tested it when we got it but it just sits in the box on a shelve. I built my wifes first bike from spare parts.

Chris no longer works there.

I'm not very impressed with the company either! I ordered a 2up seat on May 14th and after not hearing from them for a month I sent them an email and got no response. So another week gone by and I called. They informed me the seat was backordered, they could have at least sent a courtesy email. They need to get their shit together!

It's amusing to see almost three pages of Big Dog owners complaining about BDM Performance Products. I think we should all be glad that Mr. Coleman decided to provide us with support/parts at any level. I'm thankful for the support that BDM and BDM Performance Products has/is providing. I will always be a fan and a loyal supporter even in the tough times. We are all too quick to judge others when we don't walk in their shoes.

True, but if they don't know we are unhappy with them, then they have no reason to improve.
These shouldn't be issues to begin with IMHO. BD performance parts seems to be off to a bad start, I think I would be hard pressed to buy from them. BDM had great customer service and it's just gone down hill... you would think they would start this new venture off on a much better foot.

Get ahold of the site sponsor "Sterling Seats" I had mine in just a few days. Here's my thread on Sterling.

Do a search here and you'll get 4 or 5 pages of info on them.

I think they'll come around I've seen alot of new businesses start off slow but for what it's worth I deal with alot of companies buying performance parts for cars and there the same way sometimes.

I hope you are right but there is a difference between starting out slow and crap customer service/communication!

Well…..I guess BDM Performance Parts are listening and they do value their customers!!!
It’s clear that they are monitoring this site or they read Daddycools e-mail…..
I got a email from them and they stated there was some confusion that there isn’t a 25% restocking fee and because I didn’t need the part that they would except the return. I could’nt ask for anything more…to me that’s the service I want and except.
Let’s all hope that there just starting off …….ironing out the kinks ……and going to be there as a solid company….!
