How are you Guys?! Are there any Big Dog owners out there from Connecticut who know of any good mechanics (near Fairfield County) to service and repair my 2007 Big Dog K9 ? I'm not happy with the only two official Big Dog service centers in Connecticut. Your help is greatly appreciated here, as I am tired of overpaying for what is often poor work on my bike. All the Best--Brock

All American Fat and Skinny Cycle in Stratford was highly recommended to me by another Big Dog owner. My Bulldog is there now getting tires and some small work done. They were very friendly and up front with me. When I get the bike back I'll let you know more.

if you are going to throw out recommendations on places of business on this site, you need to be part of the community long enough for us to at least partly believe you. this being your first post does not lend much substance to your reputation. :zz2cents::zz2cents:

They just gave a recommendation on where he could take his bike to get fixed...Do you have anywhere in Ct to send him???? Maybe its the guys first post cause it took him to feel as though he had nothin to offer until this post came along.....take heed to your own words once in awhile.......

the man with a hell of alot to say generally doesn't have a hell of alot to say.

I apolagise for the sarcasm and meanness...All I am saying is alot of guys are probally sittin on the fence about having something to say round here and when they finally do after responses like that well maybe they wont say another word and walk away ,with a not too good outlook on this 'COMMUNITY'.......
Once again ..I am sorry the way that I expressed myself in my response.........
Seems them sarcasm management classes are beginning to work...

that's OK jimi, but criticism wasn't really the intent of my post. the fact that his first post was the recommendation of a shop with the contact info of a person w/ their tel. # just seemed to me to be advertising. yes, it was solicited, but more info could have been given such as how this person had come to know of this shop and how well he knew the mechanics at the shop before he started recommending them to the forum. i am sure that there aren't very many shops in Ct. and any good shop would be appreciated, just give a little more background and do an intro. let us know who "jammss" is and why we should trust you. just sayin'

How are you Guys?! Thanks so much for your recommendations thus far. Norwich is just too far for me, but thanks jammss. Please let me know how you make out with All American Fat and Skinny Cycle in Stratford oldcarsarecool, as I have heard of them, and Stratford is close to Shelton, where I live (Maybe we could ride some time, and meet up at shows?) I have had some bad experiences with High End Cycles myself jon57; I will consider Docs Mc--Thanks jon57 (I live in Shelton, and perhaps we can ride and meet up at shows some time?) Sorry I caused some tension with this post men, but I know for certain that this is the best forum on the Web for Big Dog owners, and that is certainly because it consists of the best riders!!! Please keep those suggestions coming guys! All the Best--Brock

Ok, got my bike back yesterday from All American Fat and Skinny Cycles. Very happy with the work. They state on their phone message they close on saturday at 2:00. At 3:30 they called me and said the bike was finished and all that was left was a test ride. Dennis told me he would call me back in 15 minutes to let me know that everything was ok. He did and then they waited probably 40 minutes for me to show up with the trailer. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. Small bike shop with a great attitude. They have a web site with phone # and info.

jammss, was not trying to be over critical of your first post. what you said here in this post was good. you said they had been good to you in the past, go a little more in depth by telling us what they did for you, their attitudes, their timeliness on getting things done, their price/fairness, willingness to work with you; things like that. that will get you a lot farther with the members. hope you enjoy your stay here in the pound and looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts on things.

How are you Oldcarsarecool? Thanks so much for the followup on All American Fat and Skinny Cycles--I'm sold based on your feedback and on the feedback of other people I talked to. I'm going to let them do my 500 mile service. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again--Brock

Brock, I hope you have the same experience I had there. Let me know. I've put about 50 miles on this bike since I got it back. Just got it registered today. Since I bought it out of state I had to get a temp. plate and take it up to DMV for a vin. verifcation. No problem but the inspector did tell me the bike technically was not legal in CT because of no reflectors on the forks or rear. I told him it was all stock. I have no idea if thats true. He said it was a problem with Big Dogs, but didn't think any cop would break my balls about it. We will see.
