I have a small puncture in my rear tire it is less than a inch long and has a very small leak in it. The problem is the tires have less than 500 miles on them they were barley installed when i bought the bike at a dealership.What would yall do? patch it, plug it? I never have had this happen to me on a bike it worries me if i was to get on the highway and have a blow out or something. Im sure some of you have had this happen to you give me some info please

You might as well start asking "which oil is better". Its all personal opinion. This has been debated many times. It comes down your personal comfort level on a repaired tire. Are you a nervous nelly?

Yeah for me... its a case by case basis for the rear tire and is always a plug over a patch. Front is a flat out no dice, get a new.

Oh and if I was going to pull the rear... I think I might take the oppertunity to blaze it before removing it.

my experence working with a national tire company;
1. the puncture must be in the general area of the center tread. do not try to repair any sidewall or generally within an inch or so of the side wall on the tread area.
2. plugs leak, plugs come out.
3. the tire can be removed, basically grind the inside of the tire in the area of the puncture. a patch is then vulicanized to the inside of the tire.

if you must keep that tire, any larger retail store or truck center can do the repair if the bike shop does not do this

you Do Need To Get It Repaired; remember lower air pressure more heat, more heat equalls a flat or blow out.

the only time i would run a punctured tire is to patch it from the inside and then run a tube. i do to much high speed and long hauls to take a chance.

allways error on the side of safety.
just my 2 cents worth.

I replace threar tire once when I found a nail in it. I can't see taking a chance when 75% of the time I have my wife on it. That's just me.

Roast it!!!!
then take some pics.

Warning - I roasted mine - It's goona be a serious cleanup when it's all said and done. It was worth it to me anyway.

Good luck.
