K9 Electrical issue

I have a 2006 K9 with very low miles on it. It starts and runs good but as I go down the road, at different times the horn will beep once then the bike shuts down. I have tried to pin point when this happens but there is no same time that I can get it to duplicate. Could anyone tell me why it would beep the horn then just shut down? After this happens you can press the stop button then run, as normal to start, and it fires right back up....
I have looked at the wires but nothing seams to be out of place. The bike only has 1100 miles on it, but has been sitting in storage for a few years.:loony:

I would put a ohm meter on your battery post with the scoot running to see if your charging system is working correctly. Sounds like it may be your charging system isn't charging the battery and the bike is draining the battery as you run it.

The battery is brand new, I bought two of the same type batteries, one for my K9 and another for my Big Dog Chopper. My other big dog runs fine with the battery I put in it. I know the charging system is working, due to the fact I just replaced the voltage regulator with a new one, the old one wasn't charging. So I am getting up to 14 volts now. I don't think it has anything to do with me replacing the VR because it was doing the same thing before I replaced it. I did notice last night when I turn the switch on that the rear right tail light was on, like I had the brake applied and that same side blinker doesn't work. Could this be the EHC going out? Or just a short in the right side handle bar controls, which also has the engine kill button....??????

Well after talking with serveral people and reading alot of the post here I broke down and ordered the "Wire Plus" replacement unit. It was a chuck of money to throw out but bike doesn't do me much good if I can't ride it! Should get parts Monday and start the process of replacing the Crappy BD module.

Well got my replacement EHC unit installed and it runs great! I when to buy the crimper.....$250!!! Not gonna happen! So I just soldered the pins onto the wires, gives a good connection. Its up and running great! Easy to create a rats nest of wires if you don't take your time on these kits. Also ordered the switch that goes along with the "Wires Plus" kit.

Lowes or Home Depot for the crimper 10-20 bucks...There is a thread by Jake on the crimper.
