Signals and brake light issues

2001 pitbull. It has the Harley type switches and housing and not the LEDs for signals and controls. My signals do not seem to work now. It was sporadic for a while but now not all. I have a new Thunderheart and all the connections are tight and secure. Funny thing is that my rear brake light does not come on when the signals do not work. Any thoughts about this as it is driving me nuts.

If you had a softail, I would say to check and see if the wires had rubbed on the wheel, but I think your wires run inside your struts. Generally, when you have several electrical issues happen in a short time, the EHC may be failing. If so, consider a Wire Plus. I think for your year model, it's plug and play. No connections to make other than the dummy wires on the dash.

Signal Issues

The Hunderheart is brand new so I would assume it should be good. As far as a wire plus, I have not been able to find one for my bike. The 2001 pitbull is carbureted. Anyone know if they make one for these bikes.

You might want to call Wire+ and ask them, it's real easy to do.

Do you have access to a telephone?

Try testing the wires for continuity with an ohm meter or just take it to a local MC repair shop.

I wish I had more money.
I would check like Brad said. You just may have a wire rubbed. My money is on the chaffed wire. It's there somewhere. If it were the TH is either works or it dosnt. Right?

:loony::loony: What does the Thunder Heart have to do with the signal lights :loony::loony: I must be going ape shit, but if your signal lights don't work you need to trace the wire from the plug at the light bulb to the plug going to the source for power to the light. Use a test light to check for power on that wire before and after each connector. If it has power it could be the bulb not making good contact with the light housing or like said above it could be a bad wire.

Good Luck

Signals

Wire plus does not make one for a 2001. I talked to them today. I having been talking to Thunderheart and it has to be the relay in the module. I can power all of the signals and lights if I put a jumper wire from the battery to the location on the plug. When I plug it in, no signals front or back and no rear brake light. Guess I will try another ehc. If anyone has one, let me know.
