I am thinking of powder coating my lower forks and my wheels. putting black spike grips on my bike. What do you guys think?

Also just found out both of my side plastics covers are broke where the bolts hold them on. Anyone else had this problem?

:hi: the problem with the side covers is fairly common. check with your dealer, they should be covered under warranty.

It would probably look good. My suggestion would be to open it up in your Paint program and black it out yourself. If you want to be high tech like I did on the camaro I'm building employ a designer. Hermance Design

I did show them black in my photo shop and they looked good. Just never know until they are done.

Is there anything you can do for the plastic side covers to keep them from cracking? Maybe some custom metal ones?

Just line them up really well when you put 'em on, and DO NOT tighten the bolts too much. The mounting pins float inside rubber bushings. Beyond that, some people have doubled the thickness of the tabs by adding backing of some kind.

go for it - I was very close to doing my wheels last week - I even had them off ready for the job but then shit out. Next year perhaps I will more than likely get the whole front end black powder coated (maybe not the bars), along with my intake. See my thread "beautiful bike" - there is a bike there which is almost entirely black except for the wheels - that is the sort of look I will be going for - with all that done I figured the wheels would be too much.

Lee you are right that is a bad azz bike... I think the handle bars need to stay chrome with black spike grips and also the wheels should stay chrome. I think I will do that to mine!!! Maybe do half of my big radius black like the lower half towards the bottom.
