My comments below initially were posted to Snakebite's "Starter CMM?" question. But wanted to share it as its own thread.

I tell you this place is the schiznit! I am by know means a wrencher and there certainly will come a day when something will need to be repaired/replaced on my sickle. With the wealth of knowledge along with everyone's willingness to help on this forum I am confident I will be able to wrench myself.
Kudos to BDB forum and its members :2thumbs:

I totally agree, people helping people. I can't afford a completely new starter (though a found a ton on ebay, new, for around $239), so I have to either figure it out myself or go without. Without resources like this, that wouldn't be possible.

I am with you....because of this forum and it's knowledgable members I was able to first understand the bike and then make my own service and repairs from all the great How-to threads. I don't want anyone touching my bike, unless I have to. GREAT STUFF !!!!!!! :2thumbs:

You have to acknowledge Gas Man and the countless hours he put in to write up and photograph all the how to info in the tech section. A+

This site has alowed me to research and make an educated decision on what to buy.
It has also helped me find info about big dog history, upgrades , matinence and other important stuff.
To me it was a big purchase. This forum made me an educated consumer.
It has also led me to some good deals on the parts I wanted.
Thanks. :)

I've learned how my Dog works by reading threads here. Some of this stuff you can't learn on your own. Thank you everyone for sharing the info. I always refer here for specs and tips.

This site has cost me THOUSANDS.........

But it would have been MILLIONS if it were not for the good people and How-To's here on this forum. I'm one of the lucky one's to have people like Chris aka (Gas Man) just across town. John Beezer, Seatmaker, Bigbro's 1&2 all with minutes from my house. Friends like Chopper Dave & Cutty, T-Mack make it easy. Even without that it took me four bikes to get the right one, until i can't ride anymore i will have my Bigdog. :whoop:
