That's a good price for a damn good looking pipe-probably the best I've seen on a K9. I know from experience that their stuff works-no hype just performance. Sure would appreciate a pic. Thanks

Finally got mine in, silver ceramic, no heat shields,2 inch primarys. This thing is going to be loud (I can't wait). One nice feature is the slip joint method on the front pipe. It uses no clamps of any kind just a bead of sealant. Anybody thats had to remove a 2 into 1 header after its been on awhile will appreciate this. Also note the billet gaskets( no mesh used) this is to eliminate any obstruction in the exhaust port.

here's the aircrft nuts and the billet gaskets
Al, whats the procedure for using these gaskets. Seems you would have to have a very smooth surface on the head to get a tight seal.
Does the instructions state to use some good exhaust sealant with them???

Thanks,
Ray

Nice set up Al. If I ever change pipes it will be one of the two pipes in this post. Performance is my number 1 priority. Loud and cute looks good in my rear view mirror.

Yep Ray thats all that is recommended. But I will say that the pipe itself has a nice smooth machined surface. I will have to clean the cylinder head good though. The aluminum used is a very soft grade.

Black dog yours chrome? and does it have heat shields?
It is chrome but I haven't installed the heat shields yet. It'll depend on how bad the pipes start to blue but so far the only discoloration is the rear pipe which has turned a golden hue up near the head. BTW, heat shields are extra $$$.

Thanks! You'll need at least a dial indicator to measure where your stock deck height is. Of couse, you'll need to pull both heads to measure and once that's done remove the jugs and have them machined to achieve final deck.

The air cleaner is stock but I switched to the S&S big filter (1" taller). The stock size filter (including K&N replacements) only flow in the low 200 cfm range. A 117ci motor needs about 315 cfm and this big filter flows 325 cfm. I wish I'd saved the article to reference this.

Black Dawg, I was thinking about this post today riding my bike. I rode it for the first time with the 1 inch oversize S&S filter, and it does pull alot harder up top. 4k and above. I really think that little filter was choking my motor like we discussed after seeing my A/F ratio go fat up top. Between cutting the baffles in half and putting on the bigger filter I bet the dyno shows a suprising difference. I will get out there when I get some time and prove it to the masses.
