..I would like to hear more about this as my wheels have taken a beating over the years and have many scratches and pits. May be time to try something different....:2thumbs:
Ray, I know you love that ol' black warhorse, but I'd have bet next month's house payment you'd be on a new Bulldog Bagger by now! Guess I was wrong!

I hate the power ball. Get old towel and a buffing wheel and a case of beer. Pull front and rear wheel off and do it up with Mothers polish

I do that process every 25,000 miles
any chance there is a step-by-step on how to pull the wheels?

the maintenance manual seems to be VERY expensive, not even sure it shows how to doit--

usually have the shop do my maintenance, but I can see I am gonna want to pull the wheels for a high gloss polishing, so, for a noob, how tuff is it to pull front and back?

thanks

If you can afford it....chrome them. If not, I prefer Semichrome or Wenol.

I use a Mother's Cone with mag and aluminum polish, mother's billett polish, and when I get them really about all I want to do on them, then I wipe them down with Weiman's Silver polish purchased at Wal mart for $3.47. Check out the thread I just posted complet with pictures. My wheels were not pretty and shiney when I rescued this scooter but it is coming around. Don't wet that cone or ball down before applying polish, it throws the crap everywhere !!! I like the Siver polish.

Have not tried the cones. Thinking the cone is better then the mothers ball. Tried the ball once and was more a PITA than anything.
