Air Filter Cover

This past winter (thanks be to God it's gone) I bought a replacement air filter cover for the pup. I wanted some more bling. I bought a skull Kuryakyn. The thing cost about $84 and come to find out it's plastic. The other day I went for short ride. I kept hearing this weird noise at idle at stop lights. Sounded like the carb was sucking air through a pipe sort of. Got the pup home and checked the fit and rechecked to make sure stuff was tight, notta, nothing. Pulled off the cover and put the stock cover back on. Noise is gone, engine runs better too. Members, I don't know if any of you have ever put one on, but I don't put a lot of stock in this particular cover. Just my two cents mind you.
