EHC

Does anyone know what specifically goes bad in the controller? Is it a diode, bad chip, melt down due to insufficient gauge wire? One other thing. The wire plus unit is a great unit, but why would they not engineer a system that is just plug and play?

Wire Plus thought out and thought long and hard about a plug and play for the 2004-current bikes. Finding the plugs was not an issue.

They looked into how many issues was due to water damage in the serial plug and decided against doing a plug and play because alot (50%+) of the issues is due to the plug alone and not just EHC failure, but corrosion due to no means of sealing that plug.

They decided that there were more issues in the electrical system that needed fixed, aside from just removing the EHC. The EHC needed replaced with a more reliable unit, the serial plugs needed to be replaced with something that would handle vibration and be water tight, and lastly the stock troublesome ignition switch needed replaced with a high current unit.

These three main components being replaced would take care of a very large part of electrical issues on our bikes.
