What should piss guys off is...why not just be upfront with your customers? Every Tom, Dick & Harry knows the motorcycle business is shitty. Come out and tell the truth, business is BAD and we just can not afford to keep the factory open at this time. We thank all of our loyal customers, ect."
Instead they deny that this has been in the cards for a year or more, while still selling bikes that won't have a lick of a warranty left!!

If Big Dog went cheap and built bikes and charged the same as Harley I can bet they would have been gone a long time ago because guys would not have bought them for the same reasons they didn't buy Harleys,

Well, I can say that Arlen Ness was not selling any of his production Y2K Choppers (High Liner, LowLiner, etc). Every year I would go out to see my brother during the summer and the same High Liner for two years straight (Beautiful bike). He didn't go under because of the Arlen Ness line of accessories sold in various places. All Big Dog Motorcycles Drivetrain Service Parts Available Directly From Baker at Cyril Huze Blog
Baker and S&S are still up and running at least, and we've got other sources for EHC (Wire Plus), speedo (Dakota Digital), headlights (Headwinds, etc), mirrors (many retailers), seats (many retailers), ETC, ETC... and as long as you've got a good dealer you trust to do major service on your bike, all is well!
As sad as it is that our beloved bike company has gone under.....WE WILL SURVIVE!!!

Heres what I think.
Why would anyone buy a Chopper in a box,Off the shelf bike ? ? Pick your frame
tank, fenders,motor ,tranny,rims,paint scheme-the way you want/like/prefer it, Not hey that looks nice-I'll buy it ! Theres a great deal of satisfaction saying- I put this together
Not - hey look what I bought !
As far as warentee goes I think S&S warantees their motors as well as Baker with their trannies.-All this my EHC is broke stuff-Why my bike won't start .If you or someone helps you with the tuff stuff-wireing,clutch set up ,tuneing-you would have no one to blame but yourself-and have the knowledge to fit it.
A custom motorcycle is just that A CUSTOM MOTORCYCLE not a manufactured
assembly line bolt together .
I hope this dosent offend anyone-
