Hopefully the Baker angle will pan out for you; if not, I could loan you my spare, to get you by, until you locate one. With 2 bikes I don't really want to sell/give it up bro.

must be tightened evenly from corner to corner and all around the outside and not much torque at all. much bind placed on any ear and it can snap, even as thick as it is. i believe it is something like 8-10 lbs. of torque.
plus, it is better to have a full gasket behind the cover than a rubber o-ring like the earlier ones had due to type of venting system.

not really sure maybe I tightened it too tight?? I changed my oil and the bike sat for 2 days and I know it wasnt cracked... then I rode it and bout 30mi into my trip I hit the rear break and there was none!! the whole rear of the bike was covered in oil!! I know it gets hot maybe when it does if its too tight this is what it does??

Mine cracked after a service at a dealership. If you look at the back side, the 2 top corners have grooves milled into them right beside the bolt holes. A little too much uneven pressure while tightening, and they'll damn sure crack. The bottom corners don't have the grooves. At least that's how mine was. Lanny at Biker's Dream hooked me up with a new one.

From the face side, you couldn't see a crack. But on the sides and backside, each top corner had a crack and wouldn't seal up against the gasket. Fluid leaked at the top, ran down the sides and dripped out the corners.

Wonder if the groove mentioned above was filled with something like JB Weld if that would eliminate these things from cracking?

I cracked one on my K-9 (went by torque specs and still cracked it). Now I just use the "feel method" on those bolts (think the specs are a little high).
