Hello everyone, new to the site and possibly a new k9 owner which will be determined later today. I'm not the smartest guy but I'm smart enough to know that this is the place where the real experts hang out. With that being said, I'd like some pros & cons on the k9. Today i'll be looking at an 08 with 164 miles listed for 18500. Haven't had any time for research since I just noticed this deal yesterday. On the down side, What little i've read, owners are complaining about some minor issues like chrome peeling, oil leaks, fenders falling off, speedo failing and a few others. Opinions, and any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

I can tell you the owner survey taken on the site shows more K-9 owners than any other model. That in itself tells you something I'd say. I would see the bike before I bought it and check for any telltale chrome issues. We've all had some issues at one time or another. Mine was replacing the EHC for a Wire-Plus. Otherwise, I have no complaints about my pup and if you get a K-9, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.:2thumbs:

I own a 2006 K9 and love it, remember the problems on this site are the minority. most of us have good things going on. It is a custom motorcycle, and you may have some problem but most likely you will with any cycle you buy. I have almost 30000 miles on mine, and am planning to ride to daytona from PA the end of this week weather permitting. I think the one biggest problem is finding a good mechanic to work on your bike, I do most of my own work because of this. good luck

I have an 06 K9 the only problem I have had was the speedometer. I went to a DD and no more problems. I replaced the starter the the in 2008 no problems since then I go 12k miles on mine.

I havent had any issues like that with 14K, Some chrome issues on the TP rocker boxes got rid of them and a Starter miner BS.....:2thumbs:

Welcome to The Pound!:2thumbs:
Most have little or no issues with their Dogs.
It is human nature though to report problems and not report the lack of.
With that said i'm sure any minor issues that you might experience
have been addressed here.
Grab that Dog and enjoy.......:2thumbs:
I run a Group Buy Page for the guys here.

Been riding motorcycles for 43 years, rode mini-bikes before that, my K9 is the most fun bike I have ever owned! Only issue for me was a fogging speedo, Don at Value Teck took care of that for me with the Dakota Digital. You will love the K9!

I have a 04 Chopper. So far so good. Like said before you are buying a customized motorcycle. If you want to stand out from the rest of the crowd this is it. If you are good at mechanics then you should be OK. It does seem that some people have more trouble than others with there dogs. Good luck with your possible purchase. And don't forget to post some pics if you do get it.

have the dealer check to make sure the service bulletins/recalls have been taken care of. would be one thing you don't have to worry about.
