I haven't seen any that will fit Big Dogs yet, but the 7" with high/low HID are being sold on eBay for $100 total (79+20 shipping) for a pair.

Like these:
HID+1987 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS 7" - eBay (item 220738194567 end time Feb-20-11 19:07:03 PST)

I hope we can get something like this for the bikes soon.

Yes, I know of Jakes HID kit, I have bought 2 and gave up. It seems that the last one I bought is not liked by the computer and it causes the bike's electrical to lockup. Sorry, but I just don't care for it. The high beam on it (35w) is a total joke.

I DO like Jakes other products, just so nobody accuses me of bashing. And he did warranty a failed HID bulb (once) with not much hassle.

I did some calling around before I bought one from Jake, and they all said if you have the original EHC in, you can't run hids lights. I have Wire-Plus and Jake saying his are made for BD. We will have to wait and see.:flag:

That is cool, would love to make one work in the Dog.

But these specs are not too impressive after I found them...

Model 8700
7" Round LED High/Low Headlight
•1,350 Raw Lumens; 650-760 Effective Lumens
•Available in a 12-24V DC configuration
•Durable glass lens stands up to harsh environmental conditions
•Rugged solid state LEDs can withstand shock & vibration
•Long-lasting LEDs mean never having to replace another bulb again!
•Die-cast aluminum housing provides maximum protection
•Retrofits type 2D1 “PAR56” sealed beams

A stock H4 bulb puts out 890 Lumens on low beam. The HID kit at 6000K puts out over 2500 Lumens at low beam.

"1,350 Raw Lumens and 650-760 Effective Lumens" would make me guess that this LED headlight puts out 650-760 of light on the road but because the LEDs are so pin point at a long distance that the 1350 "Raw" lumens is rated to how far it can be seen and not the light on the road surface.

Is your LED conversion actually brighter or is it less light but just seema brighter due to it being whiter?

First off, I will tell you that I have never run and HID setup on anything I have owned.

So I have nothing to compare it to.

What I can tell you is that the light is evenly spread out in a large area in front of the bike and then a nice oblong pattern in front.

There is not a dead spot anywhere I can see.

I understand lumens and I am really a more is better kind of guy.

I will say that the LED MIGHT be a more effective use of the lesser lumens. Don't know as I have nothing to compare them to.

But what I can tell you is that the light is instantly on and does not miss a beat going from high to low and visa versa.

And these are REALLY expensive. But they work really well and it was an idiot proof bolt in.
