which addressed membership growth on this site. INCREDIBLE!

Here is part of what Knotso said: "So far for 2011 we are at 5763 members and still time before another year is up. That is 4.16 new members on average per day".

But I have to ask? Is BDM selling that many new dogs (NOT likely)? OR are the used ones being turned over so fast that that is what accounts for all the new members (many of which seem to have a BDM bike)? Or is it that a lot of long-time dog owners are just now getting around to joining BDB?

Just curious, because one would think the economy would not be conducive to this kind of growth.

What do you think???

People who have owned Big Dogs for a while and did not join. Now that the Dog needs some work, they found the site by a web search.

People who have been looking at Big Dogs and found the site while doing research on the bikes.

Just a couple of possibilities

Also, I think this economy is forcing some Dog owners to do their own wrenching. That along with a few service reps that don't know what the hell they're doing.

This is why I joined. Had problems with the bike and while looking for answers, found this site and liking it:2thumbs:

My wife got me the bike { She is a Sweety!}and I knew it needed work, and not quite there yet. I think I got in here soon after I got it just making sure some of the things I was doing to it was right the first time. I have never been to trusting with mechanics/ service people that won't let me ask questions. So I do all almost all the wrenching around here. Everyone on here has always been really helpful in any questions I've asked. I have always believed you watch/listen the people that are really good at working on anything and the really good ones don't mind showing you the little tricks that make it easier. I see a lot of that in here. A lot of very knowledgable people that are willing to share the knowledge to help others. Some of you all make me laugh as well. Ray appreciates this forum and the people in it.

Thank you,

Ray

I've had my bike since new in 03. Just stumbled across the site and joined recently. I don't think I found any forums back then...

I really hate to say this, but some of it might be accountable to just transfer of ownerships due to hard times, lost jobs, divorce, etc. Let's face it, times just aren't like the way things used to be. I just hope we can weather the storm.

I spent 3 weeks studying microwaves before my big purchase and it is now 30 years old with no issues. I started looking at Big Dogs from the beginning and joined this web site 3 years ago. I have now adopted a Big Dog from another member. But that is just my story and it is just me being myself.

Bottom of the forum page it says like 1136 active. What does that mean? How often do you have to come on or post to be active?

This is a very good point Shovel.....wonder if it has anything to do with the economy being down, more time to waste in the office or at home due to work slowage or stoppage and people just fool around more on the computer.....I wonder how many of the members here just come aboard ,and plain ole dont even have a BDM...Seems very few even post and /or take awhile to post......

maybe its the subversive element trying to infiltrate
Definitely...see the black helicopters?

Really though, I thought after the migration to the "promised land," this forum was supposed to wither and die. WTF?

And the essential posters...they are gone. Yet, we survived.
