FYI....Helmet?

A buddy of mine who has been riding a long, long time never wore a helmet. He hated helmets and just refused to do it unless in a state where it was required. He was out one evening with another buddy who wrecked on the way home. The only injury the guy sustained was to his head. He died from the injury which would have clearly been avoided with a helmet. My buddy called me and said he just went out and bought a new helmet for himself and his wife and that he won't be riding anymore without one. I used to never wear one but after my wreck (which I luckly just messed my shoulder up) I have decided they aren't that bad. Anyway, thanks for the food for thought...

It was a good post Cindy and it actually made an impact on me to wear my helmet more often. I recently made a comment on another thread about helmets and brains, but please under no circumstances take that as any disrespect towards Andrew and his accident. I too occassionally roll the dice and ride unprotected and risk the same injuries he is recovering from. I think your original post was a good reminder to all of us of the risks and associated consequences of riding helmet-less.
