Does anyone know if you can replace an 07' original Tach/speedo with a new digital Big dog Tach/speedo like the new 2010 models come with. How simple is the process?

I noticed everyone bragging about the Dakota Digital, anyone have any experience with the big dog digital one yet?

I do not have expr with a BD digital unit; do you have a reference link or something to understand which unit you are referring to? I thought I've seen all the newer models and for some reason was thinking they are all analog style swept speedo's still, albeit certainly more digital data points in the odometer area. I could be mistaken.
Anyway, not sure if it'd be simple bolt on plug n play or splice harness.

The new Big Dog speedo does not plug straight into the wireing harness. They told about a year ago that they were working on a adapter plug. The new K-9/250 is running the new speedo. Maybe it would work now.
It would be easier to run the Dakota unit.

Everyone loves the Dakota because it does exactly as it states. Simple hookup, 2 year warranty, great tech. support and no fogging issues.:2thumbs:
The display has an auto dimmer so it can be seen in the sunlight and is not too bright at night.
And it looks hot!

Thanks for the imput guys. The only thing I know is that the speedo on the the new 2010 K9's are totally digital, the big dog dealer seems to think that it is a simple job to just switch it over to the digital tach/speedo. he said it's just a matter of getting a part number and ordering it, just don't know what to believe?

I switched over to Digital Dakota and highly recommend it! Don't know anything about the BDM digital unit, but since DD has been around for quite a while and have a quality product - seemed like the best option.

I couldn't read the stock BDM speedo at night (bad case of old man eyes). The blue LED display is great for both day and night riding. Both the trip odometers and mileage are very easy to see and easy to switch between views. The dual trip odometers are a real plus for gas mileage and service tracking.
