To be honest. To me nothing is sexier than a woman in a corset. So I wanted a corset type pattern on the tank. Only wanted to do a graphic representation so it wouldn't look to girly.
I also like dragons so dragon scale was the plan.
I drew it out and cut some templates out with an exacto knife.
I airbrushed it using 3 colors. A dark blue with blue metal flake, a blue pearl and a blue candy for highlights.
I kept all the graphic color up top. I want the bike to look black from the side.
I fell in love with the bd mutt for it's lines and spoke wheels and didn't want to take away from it.
My wife said it's my dragon bitch. Lol
Sorry for typos, typing on my phone.

Oh and thanks for the kind words. :)
I restore mopars for a living so it can be fun to do creative stuff.

I think it looks great. Tell me something, after you get your graphics on the part, do you start shooting clear acrylic lacquer over the graphics until you can color sand the clear totally flat over the graphics, then shoot the catalyzed clear over that?

I have not used any laquer products since about 1998
This was done with ppg urethane base/ clear.
The color is done then coated with 3 wet coats of high solid urethane clear.
I used PPG 2021 clear.
The high solid clear will almost cover the ridge from the colors.
Simply wet sanding and buffing the clear will completely remove any ridges in the finish.
Not on this one but if the ridges are real thick you can clear, cure, sand, reclear to get it flat like glass when necessary.
Hope this makes sence. I can elaborate if necessary.

I like it....Like Knotso said ,great color combination...cant go wrong there, nice job...are you a painter by trade???? I have been using 2021 for about the past maybe close to 10 years and am a fan of it...my bike is cleared with it and all PPG materials are so compatible with House of Kolor........
Nice job once again....

Well... I manage a shop that restores classic mopars.
I still do all the spraying along with 9000 other jobs. lol
I do like the way the ppg products work. I am not however of fan of the ridiculous price increases.
Thanks guys for the positive feedback.
Hopeing to sand and buff it tomorrow.
