well my Triple X finally turned up yesterday - it only took 34 days!

The install went well and thanks to Gas Man for his "how to" which I almost followed religously (I didn't disconnect the coil wires - just held the thing to the side out of the way).

When I finished I tried to start the bike and it would not start - WTF had I not done?!? - after ten minutes or so of adjusting the screws and keep trying to start, it refused to start - flooded the engine no doubt and on one attempt a big black cloud of shit spewed out of the carb! It then dawned on me - it is easier to start the bike if you re-attach the spark plug leads! did that and he fired right up

 Too funny when you forget the simplest of things....

Glad to hear it finally got there and that you got it on. Did you get it out on the road yet? Did you do the swap or send yours in? I'm thinking swap... what are you doing with your old one, sending it back?

I seem to have a habit of doing things like that! I literally only had time to go down the road and back - everything seemed fine but I will find out more when I go for a proper blast

yeah I'm sending mine back to Bob this week - he knows it has taken forever to get here so he should be ok with the refund - I hope so anyway

thanks for the support BB!!

took it out for a quick blast tonight - it ran real good with the S&S dual intake - jets are 32 and 80 - sound big I know but it runs really well and it was sneezing thru the carb with a 78 on the stock G - the decel popping also seems a bit better - happy days
