Braille Battery Failed

Energy One
Well although this battery has ran flawlessly for the time I owned it, I have to second guess buying another one. The battery is exactly 1 year and 10 months old and it will not take a load at all. Contacted Braille and sent my warranty info over and they only replace during the first year for free then pro rate for the second year. This means a new battery from them would cost me $140.00 plus I have to send them my old one, no thanks. Back to basic batteries for me because all they are going to last is 2 years max no need to spend the extra cash. Big Boar battery also lasted almost 2 years as well for me before the terminals cracked from the vibration. Yes the all have been on the tender religiously.

Interesting, but sure a point against them. The old HD AGM batts are just as good and cheaper at that point.....

I bought a brand new Braille batterry in May and just went to use it 3 weeks ago. The battery was a dud. Braille will replace it with full warranty. They even offered to pay the shipping both ways. Braille was real good to deal with but once UPS gets a hold of something be prepared to shell out.Well, once customs got a hold of it and charged brokearge fees i now have a $280 battery. Never again. It will be HD for me from now on.

Damn! My Braille just came in yesterday. The last 2 batteries I put in my bike lasted about 3 months each. I recently went with an Interstate and it just doesn't have the balls to spin the motor after sitting for a few days. I do keep it on the tender but left it off about a week ago. Barely got the motor to turn. So, 2 years is sounding damn good to me. Rocky has an HD battery in her Mastiff. 2 years and no issues. Maybe that's the route to go too!

I'm also going with the HD battery- never had issues in the past with them.
I've heard you shouldn't leave a tender on all the time. One week on one week off.
Or one month on one off. 50 o/o of the time I guess. I've been doing it on my HD batteries and no problems. I usually get 3-4 years out of them and that includes winter
storage ( comming soon ) .

My '04 Texas Chopper still has the "original" Yuasa battery in it. I have it on the tender when I'm not on the bike. During winter storage I will take it off for a month or so and then periodically plug it back in for a while. The bike does sit in the house during winter so its around 70 during that time which helps.

I thought about buying a Braille, but since this Yuasa has lasted me over 6 years and still spins my 124ci...I think It'll be another Yuasa when I'm ready.

I don't seem to get a battery to last more than a year. I've been skeptical about buying the Braille due to this. From what I understand a battery is rated on start life and my batteries go through a lot of startings so I just buy the HD AGM batteries every year.

Not to say the Braille is not a good battery.

Been talking to Deka about handling their battery. Just haven't had time to set the appointment to discuss pricing with them. Good enough for HD to use them, good enough for us.

All of this is why I only buy HD batteries. Easy access to the HD dealer regardless of where you are in this country. So when you need a new one, warranty or otherwise, you can do it. Even if your "internet bought" battery has a 5yr warranty, getting the warranty done or whichever is stupid PIA. Plus I haven't had issue with my HD AGM batteries.

I've had my Deka now 2 yrs and I'm sorry but I'm not religious about the tender (I know I should be) and its still crankin

Have had Big Boar batteries in my Dog, had the post on earlier battery crack, and purchased another through local shop this year to go to Sturgis and a month ago It craped out after I shut the bike off to fill with gas. Going to HD batteries like in my lowrider..
