How FAST?

Ray.......I was inside my bubble. Bubble got busted when I lost my shades. Didn't have the do-rag though. Got a half mask and MP3 player. My Etymotic Research ER-6 earphones were right behind me. Flew out of my ears when I lost the shades. They looked like the energizer bunny, they were rapping around my neck so tight thought someone had snuck up behind me. Right in the middle of Freebird too:D . Gotta have my Skynard. Have a little of everything on my player...Skynard, Zepplin, Ludacris, JayZ, Tim McGraw, Timbaland, Springsteen :2thumbs:

these bikes are geared faster then they will runn, to much wind resistence. i believe that when i had my bike dynoed, they said the tire spins abot 169-170. i know that when i was doin like 155(est.), i was in 6th wide open and just holdin it there for pry almost 10 seconds, and i was definatyl in the yellow maybe even red lights on the tach. everything was shankin so bad i could even see the speedo. i could see anything, it was awesome. it was so crazy that i knew that i shouldn't be doin it but i did anyways. lol.

That's pretty crazy Cav. Done it on a crotch rocket once, but remember once I came to a stop my knees were knocking so bad I almost dropped the bike. Think I'll just take it easy .

Man I got rid of the rocket because cruising was 110, and nothing under 150 would even make me put two hands onto the bars. I was all about the high speed stuff. Got rid of it because of that.

120 or 130 isnt bad on the dog, but over that is just askin for problems.
Agree 100%.... and anything over 170 (even in a car) takes on a whole new world.

I belong to the "200 club" - group of guys with cars documented to run over 200 - (the lambo is rated 204). I can tell youi shit happens over the 170 mark that you can't expect. For example, the windshield wipers start jumping and banging from the wind - lambo has mini winglets on them to prevent that.

There's more to it than just keeping it straight.. rating of tires, etc etc.

I would say I will test it... but damn... that's the reason I got rid of the sportbike.... but maybe I could be swayed... or I'll just pass it to Cutter and let him try it! :D
That's OK Gas, my speedo goes high enough to tell me how fast I will ever go on the Dog... :loony: your not a beneficiary on my life insurance policy anyhow...

Don't forget, I'm the old guy when the "Al's" aren't there...:( even though Dave is right behind me and Seat is older - they must use that Grecian formula or sumthin'. :damnit:

It made me nervous at 110 and 115-120 was good enough for me, too much wobble and I could barely keep my feet on the pegs...

That was also when my VR died and left me stranded on the xway - 150 miles from home.
...or the other time when I had to catch up with BigAl to wave goodbye before my exit, good thing he told me that he never took his over 90.? :job:
...or the time my Dad's buddy told me that his Kaw was faster than my Dog because it only weighed 450 lbs.
... or the time the guy with the convertible Mustang wanted to impress his girlfriend by blowing by me while I was just minding my own business(I think I shrunk his nut sack right up and gave him a "turtle complex")
...or that time at band camp...

I guess I am feeling a little squirrelly since I was able to get the Dog out for a stretch a couple of days ago.

Well I got in a little drag race with my buddy on his K9 today.(Happens everytime we ride) Wide open Nevada straightaway for miles. 4th gear rapped out, 5 th gear rapped out and the speedo was beyond pegged and we shifted into sixth and still had it matted. He claimed we hit 4500-5000 rpm in sixth. I didn't look down after shifting into sixth. I would guess 140-150. Things shake alot and get blurry.:D I got him by a few lengths. We get to the next stop and one of his inner primary bolts had fallen out and the side of the bike was drenched with primary oil. Took the top bolt out and put it in the bottom. Took care of most of the leak. We road about 140 miles today. Mid fifties and was about all I can take. Did I tell you how much I love the heat.:hi:

Well you got me thinking. I'm a speed freak too, so I took my GPS with me headed for the freeway. Took a while to get an open section with no cars. She went up to 140 easily, but then I chickened out as I saw an entrance ramp loaded with cars coming up on the freeway. So I backed down.

The chopper is pretty quick, but not like my Cobra. I've had it up to 165. At 180 it comes off the ground. It'll do zero to 100 and back to zero in ten seconds. It's the coolest thing I can do with my clothes on. Get's me excited.

Drive safely and don't take too many chances.
