I hate to sound like a whiner, but I was just checking out some of our tech. forum and it sounds just like Harley in 1980. I loved them , but trhey were junk. Harley stepped up and took care of buisness and made us proud again. BDM can do the same. We put alot of $$$ their way and they need to help us out. I have read 4 times where they won't even call back. It even happened to me on a wheel recall. I have already been through this once and I hope BDM fixes their issues. We love our dogs and will support them, Im tired of this AMF attitude. Sorry for my attitude but along time ago when I was 18 HD hosed me every time. Sorry again

Yea, I know what you mean, I love my Dog but I don't trust it! It breaks my heart but if I am going to a rally and can only trailer one bike I take the HD. I hate the thought of getting there, paying for a room and having issues all week!

The real shame is that the technology is there for them but for some reason they wouldn't use it!

I'm telling you Rich, It will get better if BDM is any kind of buisness. I hate to say it but I pushed that old Harley more than I rode it and what really sucks is I still love love that oil leaking , no starting, no stopping thing. It must be me, I just couldn't get on a jap bike. Thanks, good luck

Jaybird you need to take into consideration the cuts BDM is taking on personnel working there. Harley is a much bigger company so there's really no comparison there...Just saying

I think we all feel your pain in one way another. All we really have is the forum and the supporting dealers untill the economy improves and the company rebounds.

I've ridden my '07 from central TX to Sturgis, and back, twice now... no issues except for a flat tire. Lots of us ride them so I don't get what you are pissed about jaybird, what is wrong with your bike???

sorry about my attitude, Just found out last week my rear wheel had a recall and will take 9 months to get a replacement. If it blows apart earlier, maybe they can get one sooner. I put as many miles on USA bikes as anyone, but thats a bullshit answer

yeah, I know way too well what your talkin about, from ehc's, front fender brackets breaking and the fender haulin ass down the road to clutch baskets breaking in half, but to tell you the truth, if the Jap's would build a bike with a 300 rear and 42 rake, chances are that k-9 pile of shit in my garage would be up for sale and one of these die hard big money grippers on this site that doesnt care if they are riding or working on the bike could put thier money where thier mouth is and come and take it off my hands. Dont take me wrong, I luv my bike when its running, put it in a show last Sunday and won best chopper and best of show, but what the judges dont know is its been broke down for the last month waiting on a wire plus and starter rebuild and just got it back together last sat. So I know what you are talking about, maybe we should buy a bdm frame, put a vtx1800 motor in it with all the honda electrics and just ride ride and ride some more, haha.

wildman, I really didn't want to get anything started and im sticking with US bikes. But Im with ya brother. I have ridden fro Va to daytona 10 straight years starting in 1979 and Va to Sturgis 2 times. I put 20,00o miles a year on my bikes and cant handle a guy at BDM telling me it will take 9 months to replace a %^&*(( up recalled wheel.

Mine left me stranded 1600 miles from my house... what did I do... I bought another one... It's a custom bike... if ya want jap reliability... buy it!!!! if ya want cool and bad ass..... keep what ya got!!!!! And take it for what it is... a CUSTOM bike!!!!

I know what you mean, Im not trying to piss anyone off either, I just feel that you get what you pay for, and for 30 grand plus I just think they could do a better job, I mean instead of this 1970's technology in the 2000's, its just sad, my dad has a 99 kawasaki drifter that the only thing that has went wrong in 11yrs is one fuse(that happened yesterday out of 11yrs, plus the basics, tires, brake pads, oil ect ect), I have had numerous crotch rockets that the only thing I replaced was clutches, tires, brakes, and parts that just wear out and I rode the living hell out of them, these bikes dont wear out, THEY BREAK! Thats what gets me, I ride it like a grown man but work on it like freakin dog to keep it running, luckily everything I have redone on the bike is staying together(so far, ha), when I took the starter in for rebuild(cause a new one from bdm is crazy ass price of 470 msrp), the guy told me that the starter is built with the cheapest parts available to man, so where do all the high ass prices that bdm come from, if cheap ass parts are put on a high ass dollar bike? I know I problably ticked someone off by typing this in, believe me, Im not trying to, just speaking my mind. Hope you get the wheel brother. The bike stays in the garage tonight, but me, my gxp and my lady are hittin the road with the top down tonight, PEACE!

Like everyone has said it's a custom. For me however BigDog has pulled through twice. I've had both my wheels replaced because of the chrome peeling, I've posted this before so I hate to sound like a broken record. The front one right at the six month mark and the rear one six months out of warranty. Didn't cost me anything either time. I didn't have to wait but 6 weeks each time to get mine. I didn't let the service center coordinate it either, Emailed BigDog myself and got a quick response each time. Never had to try the real voice conversation with them did it all through email. I dealt directly with the customer service manager and had no hassles. The rear wheel was just replaced this July. I'm sure others here have had stories as well of BigDog taking care of them way out of warranty. They have been hurt bad by the economic downturn so maybe I was dealing straight with the customer service manager since there may only be one person left in that department,.

No concerns about any attitude, wondering what went wrong with your bike... a recall is serious but it doesn't sound like your bike has let you down or left you stranded.

WOW, For "Not tryin to piss anyone off" your rubbin right up against it, jus sayn, we ALL put $$ into our bikes becouse we want to, becouse we love our dogs & thats what it takes

hey bubblehead, like I said, I wasnt trying to tick anyone off, but if you think they are so great, I see you live in the same state as I, come on over and pick this thing up for big money, isnt that what its worth, big cash, cause we all know money talks n bull---- walks, well you get the point. Hey, I was just sayin my feelings, sorry I hurt yours, but if anyone feels like these are the best things since ice cream, then why only pay what theyre askin for? and to tell you the truth, that comment that avd made doesnt help your case one bit, but maybe he didnt proof read it, his bike crapped out so he bought another, good lord, now thats one hell of an IQ, hahaha.
