Has anyone clocked a run yet or have a digital speedometer to see just how fast these babies will run? This weekend, I had my speedometer pegged at 120 in no time and she was still climbing. She felt like she'd easily hit 140+. :whoop: Do tell if you know the answer. Speed makes me all excited!! It's a Freaking orgasmic bike ride!!!!

You'll like this - was running an American Iron Horse and at the end of the run we had to stop and tighten his clutch. That was about 30 miles up the road from turning around to pick up the Harley I was riding with's gear shift lever that fell off on the road. Thank GAWD for Big Dogs!:2thumbs:

You have had to have wondered the same thing. Why oh why do they make a bike that is so fast and then go and put a limited speedo on it? Guess I'll just have to keep running til I find a friendly police occifer that can give me the answer. Wonder if I could charm my way outta that one!

I would have to calculate it because I'm not going there. 110-120 is fast enough for me. :D

Had to pick up my Bros in laws Electroglide for the same reason, lost the gearshift on the highway. And what a MF'er to get in my toy hauler. Lost balance, fell to the side and thought I was going to go through the side of the camper. I love our low center of gravity Dogg's. Feels as light as a dirtbike. :2thumbs:

True, true. I really can't "use" much more than 100 often, but I sure wonder what top end is!

TS, what's a fine girl like you going that fast for?

Girl, I want to ride with you cause if you can handle that bike at those speeds then you are someone to ride with.

Knotso and I commonly ride at over a hundred miles an hour out here in the West where we have open roads forever. Our bikes handle the speed just fine and believe it or not you get better gas mileage at higher speed.
We've proven it!!!!!

I still want to ride with you,
Ray

Crap Cavracer you scared me. I had to run out and look at Lola and make sure all the pieces were still there!!! All's well thus far! Thanks for the info though. I really thought they'd probably hit 145 ish was the number in my head. Ain't that great!??!

Ditto my friend. I do like to ride and most guys say I ride nothing like a chick. I contribute that to being on a bike since I was 5 with ONLY men around to teach me. I didn't know I was supposed to ride differently. This weekend I rode with a new group and one of them said he looked over and thought...Jesse James...then called me Janetta James the long lost sister of Jesse the rest of the day. We'll ride together I'm sure! As much as you get out and about I'm sure we'll hit the same road some day. I know we'll cross up at Austin or Sturgis this year. HEY...speaking of...are you still working on making a date for all us on this forum to meet up and ride at Sturgis? I REALLY think that would kick Azz. Can you imagine a giant pack of dogs rolling thru the hills? Better have your sunglasses on, cameras will be flashing!

Hey Ray. My last couple posts, I did a q-reply, but it posted a whole new post rather than a reply. What up?

I'm with you Ray, barried the speedo a few times last summer in Montana, on my way to Sturgis. Could not tell how fast I was going but I had plenty of throttle and torque left when it read 120+.

Some side effects were a loosened top motor mount and cracked battery box cowling. Check that eveything is tight before trying anything like this.

I have a small portable GPS that calculates speed and may give that a try next summer.

I agree at 120 plenty of power left. I have gone quite a bit faster once on my current dog and things started to feel a little funky to me. Once the needles around 115 I am done. It gets there so damn fast.:D
