Clutch ? for cam/heads guys

I'm getting ready to install some John Sachs heads, 600 cam

Does anyone have a similar set up on a 06 and newer bike that hasn't had a clutch issue after the install?

I read all threads with the problems on the older bikes

I have a set of Lozano Bros' racing heads and a S&S 600 cam and I get just a little bit of slippage when I "hammer down". I also have the Super E carb and plan on going to a Tripple X, Super G carb and upgrading the clutch cause I know it will slip then. I guess what I'm trying to say is No, you don't have to upgrade unless you want to. My slipping is not noticeable under normal riding with those heads and the 600 cam. Cheers!

John Sachs did my heads, big valves, decked heads, cut jugs and I run a 656 lift red shift cam 11:1 compression or so and have a stock clutch in it that holds. I have destroyed 5 tires, 3 transmissions but the clutch is holding. I make close to 150 tq and up above 130 hp......Other goodies in the heads and a R&B 2-1 pipe.... Converted to wide band fuel system..
The tire and transmission is my weak link.....
My wrist is fine though..
Yes a clutch I need when I am at the track making numerous runs and it starts to fail when it is hot but not on the street.
Got 4 degree dogs in the transmission to hold it in gear

That's good news. I would like to wait till I do a belt drive for a clutch.

What are dogs in the transmission???

I got them from Baker Transmission.
They made some a while back as a prototype to see if they would help in our applications for high torque motors to help hold the gear sets in. They have some on the shelf if you call them. They originally installed them in mine on the second rebuild when in 3rd gear it kept falling out with the stock ones in place. They have done the job very well.
