Clutch cable adjustments

Just replaced my clutch cable, and was wondering how do you know if the cable is too tight? Mine feels fine shifts great, just woried that the cable is too tight and don't want to break it. Is there a trick or something?

Your clutch lever should have about 1/8" play = (about the thickness of a quarter when you start to pull the lever in).

Thanks, I'll have to take a quarter down there and try that.

I always use a dime, just taught enough to hold a dime...seems to work fine for me.
