Hey guys. Is BD using Barnett clutch cables now? Has anyone used one? I bought a new one for my 06 Pitbull and it broke! It also was too long. I had a "guy" put it on for me and I assume he knew what he was doing. When he got the new one on, it was too long. He had it adjusted all the way down and I still had so much play in my clutch cable that I couldn't engage the clutch. Then when we took it off, it broke at the threads where it sits in the clutch cover. Is there a better brand of cable?

I got 2 extra clutch cables.. 1 is a bdm original from a bdm dealer & 1 is a barnett.. thay are the same excect the adjuster is about 1 in higher on the barnett.. but barnett makes the cables for bdm..if you need a Part # I've got 1 of each in the shop..

I talked to the guy from Barnett in Sturgis. He wanted $80 to make up a cable 67" for my K9. I told him i can get it cheaper from the dealer. The guy was alright, but Sturgis isn't the place to look for a deal.

Eric, the part number is 111-000004-00 correct? $66 on BDM site. The original BD cable seems like it is much better quality than the Barnett. Much stiffer. I think it is coated or something. Anyway, how much are you selling the cables for?

Great idea erldawg. I am gonna send my original and my new one to them for repair.

alright I went to the shop & got the #.. now this is what is listed for a 07 pitbull...
length..63inch
BDM # 111-000004-00
BARNETT# 102-30-10010
DRAG # 0652-0535

now all these # are on the package.. the barnett came in with the barnett # & a drag # on the bag... the bdm came in lose & has a paper tag on it.. the only differance in the cables are the barnett has the adjuster mounted in the cable length about 1 inch closer to the hand control.. & the barnett has a spring looking covering ( I guess as a anti kink or heat shield ) where the cable enters the tranny.. now from what I here barnett builds the cables for bdm.. thay both look the same except for as discribed. hope this helps...

I did the same thing and they ball parked the cable at $100+ but didn't have the specs for the cable. Left me a bit worried and never went back with my bike for them to measure... they should of had the specs since they make the cables.

Hopefully if you need a cable, your local dealer will have one in stock. BDM is backordered on many parts...clutch cables for 2005 choppers included.
