thay dont go in the engine thay go into the oil tank..the one for the ridgeback and pitbull are different than the mastiff and K-9 you have to get I full gauge that goes above your speedo. I was hoping to find a gauge that would going into the engine like the ridge and pit. Does anyon know if the one that goes on the pit or ridge would work on a mastiff?
Do you have a pic of what you did>??I can't speak to the Mastiff but i have a K-9 that i bought the Ridgeback oil temp guage for 9.99 off e-bay. The problem with the Ridgeback gauge is it is to long (about 3/8) it will screw into the oil tank but bottom out, not tighten. SO. I went to the local hardware store and bought a rubber grommet much like the o-ring that the gauge comes with only thicker about 3/8 thicker now it will snug down:2thumbs:
just sayin'
Does BDM have a oil temp gauge to put on these bikes? I just got a price from the dealer here and it was going to be over 300 bucks for one. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I think you're talking about an oil pressure gage not the temperature gage.
I have a temp gage that screws into the filler cap, very inexpensive. Do a search on the site, There was a lot of talk of that at one time.
HOTWhat is the normal, operating temp for the oil on these scoots????

I got 1 on my pitbull.. but not sure about a softail.... I got mine from bdm..
06 K9 running 1 cooler with same numbers. Always try my damnedest to avoid stop-and-go trafficdepend on driving conditions..I got 1 cooler & mine runs low 200s on a 85 +/- day if you get in traffic it may be higher .. I have seen it @ 250 in stop & go traffic.. much higher I'll stop & let it cool off..
thats what I got on my pitbull......I would think it would not fit a softail..I found this one a while back from Big Dog, however was told it did not fit my 07 K9 so I never bought one. Any know about that??
