So have read up on this and I see that most of you only have this happen in one or two gears not all of them. Iam going to see if the clutch hub nut is loose and also adjust the push rod on the cable side this weekend to see if that will fix the problem. Was just wondering if anyone had some other ideas on how to fix, or if that pretty much all I can do without having to take to a shop. Also I have the easy pull clutch pack

How many miles? I'd try adjusting the clutch and cable before opening the primary yet.

Same here try adjustment before breaking into the primary, remember to loosen up your clutch cable first before making adjustments to the clutch...:2thumbs:

Thanks guys for the info, sounds like the pushrod on the cable side needs to be tightened. I opened up the primary, and the clutch pack seems to be tight can't move it at all. While I had the primary open I pulled the cutch handle to see what is happening sounds like it to me that the pushrod is not keeping the clutch pack pushed far enough out, and that is why the slipping is occuring?

This is all new to me doing this kind of work, last bike just took to dealership for work. So any info on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys:cheers:

when you pull the clutch lever you are disengageing the clutch. If the clutch pack wan't moving far enough out you would have a problem shifting, kind of the opposite of a slipping clutch. If your adjustment is causing the slippage then you probably need to back the pushrod off a quarter turn, rather than the opposite.

Thats kind of what I was thinking, that's why I though the clutch hub nut was loose. Had the soft pull kit installed about 4000 miles ago and it was running great up till the other day. Then it just started slipping:confused:

Re-adjust your clutch, seat the rod, back off 1/8 turn, re-adjust cable, if it's still slipping plates may need replaced. The other thing is that the ez pull clutch spring is not giving enough pressure to keep the clutch locked if your plates are a bit worn. Just sayin.

Oh, also I went through the hole ramp and ball section on the cable side and cleaned off all the old grease and grime, then regreased. I think that helped too:2thumbs:
