HID Headlight

I was having a problem with the headlight switching to hi beam when I jumped on the throttle, so I figure a short somewhere in the headlight bucket. So last night I took the headlight assembly apart to locate the grounded wire. I found a rubbed through wire so I was feeling pretty good until I looked inside the bucket. It turns out the the metal ballast is vibrating inside there and has almost rubbed two grooves almost all the way through the bucket. To remedy this I have lined the inside of the bucket with a piece of rubber but I am glad I found it when I did or I'd be replacing the headlight bucket in no time at all. So all of you that purchased your aftermarket Headlight from Jake, heed my warning and look into this before it's too late.

That is a very old kit if it doesn't have insulation on the ballast. I posted a notification about this long ago, probably almost a year ago and all ballasts have been shipping with them on them since then.

I took mine off to make more room, but glued a slab of velcro to the side of the bucket where it sits. Let the bidding begin for the covers. Reserve set at $100.

Yea... That iPhone would work as a great wedge to shove in the headlight bucket. It's about all that they are good for.

My buddy uses his as a kickstand puck to keep his bike from sinking into the asphalt. ...I think there is an app in the app store for a few of these uses.
