Hard time getting into neutral

I have a 2004 Bulldog and I can't get it into neutral when I come to a stop uunless I shut the bike off. Also, the green light comes on and the bike is still in gear. Other then that it shifts fine.

Any ideas?

Mine has always been hard to get into neutral especially at stop lights. Check the search bar. I think there are several links on this subject.

my primary chain was too tight. I adjusted to specs and checked the clutch nut. then switched to amsoil in the primary. my neutral light disappeared, but who needs a light. it is alot easier shifting and finding neutral is easy..

I am going to check the target switch in the tranny when I change tranny fluid next time up on a jack.

In order to get these bikes into neutral, rev the engine a little as you click up into neutral, and it will drop right in. I think it even states it in the manual.

Good call Bmarchant, I was about to say the same thing. I always find it easier to shift into neutral just before I come to a complete stop.

You probably lost your nuetral light because the wire to the light came off the top of the transmission. This has happened a couple times on my Mastiff.

Also make sure you don't have your idle set to high. 950 min/1000 rpm's at operating temp.
