EHC Question

I have a good solid question, Im going to be keeping my current bike till hell freezes over and I'm considering buying a WP and installing it for preventative maint., Im thinking I could sell the current working EHC for a pretty penny and offset some of the cost of the Wire Plus, does this seem to make any sense? I was thinking that since ED will have my tins I will have plenty of time to wire it all up during the down time.. Your thoughts?

I've been thinking that too. I had been watching one on EBay "sorry don't know how to do the Linkey thing with the iPhone". Seller was cycleshirley. It was for 08' to 10' carb models. It sold for $350. That's about 75% of your WP cost. :2thumbs:

This is about what I was thinking, I'll do a little research on used prices,

I think a lot of the EHC's have taken a bad rap. Since yours is the newer EHC, plus your bike is under warranty(isn't it?), I know I would wait. However, I do understand your proactive thinking, but just my :zz2cents:

I sold my good EHC and installed a wire plus. I had the newer EHC but had it replaced once under warranty. Did not want to go through that again and I love the storage space under my seat now. It is freaking easy to install and you will learn a lot about your bike. DO IT!!!!!

How much did you get for it?

It makes no sense to me why someone would pay much money (75% of the cost?) for a "used" EHC rather than rewiring the bike or installing a WP. After all, once an electronic component like that has been installed there's no telling if it's had any sort of internal damage inflicted to it. That's why all sales are final (no returns) when you purchase electrical parts.

But that's just me...

Good luck!

:iagree: x2 but I've seen it happen. With the short supply of them "EHC" and some peoples limited skills they just want a quick fix so they can ride and they will pay it.

EHC sold June 23 for $350. Item # 270593787389 seller was cycleshirley

I saw that too. I'd bet it was bought by a "future" member of this forum. :D

I say this because you know if the EHC was replaced without any real troubleshooting being done most likely the new one will also take a shit on the guy. Then he'll start searching the Internet for answers and that'll lead him to us!

Hell, it may have already happened...

I gave my EHC to a friend who has a Big Dog when I converted to the Thunderheart unit on my Bulldog. What goes around comes around.
