Potential BDM Buyer Needs Feedback

I have a fellow co-worker who really digs my 03 Pitbull and is seriously thinking of buying a BDM bike, he has always been a HD owner. I allowed him to rent my pit on a couple of occasions and he loves the power, fat tire slammed look etc. I go a buck 40 (140 lbs.) and he goes like 220 lbs and he is not sure the rigid ride is for him. He mentions the vibration is also something he does not care for.

So, he is thinking about getting a used mastiff for the softer ride, but still has concerns regarding vibration. Can anyone advise if the vibration has been reduced through the years and when if any improvements have been made? I plan to just print the replies out and let him read them directly after a few days. Appreciate the input once again! :2thumbs:

I'm 6'5", 230 and ride an 06 Mastiff. Vibration isn't that noticeable while riding. The top part of the stock seat hits me half way up my ass and it goes numb after about 50 or 60 miles. Its tough its just the way my hips sit because I have long legs. I just had a custom passenger seat made and she loved it. No problems for her at all. Also, we didn't put any gel in hers either. I will most likely have to redo mine with gel and trim the top part of that seat. This guy will trim it and put gel in for $150. Not a bad fix for the added comfort. Numb ass sucks. Otherwise its a great ride.

Sure it vibrates but don't they all? I've made many rides and at the end of the day I've put 350+ miles. Also added 2.5 ext. forward controls for a relax ride.

For comparison my 1994 Suzuki intruder vibrates. The big dog is about the same, I do notice a little more vibration in the foot pegs and bars on the dog.
I never rode a smooth bike for any long rides so maybe I just don't know the diffrence.
I think my dog rides great.
