If you don't have an opinion, don't respond. Search is not my best friend. Do a search under "Best Battery" , "Top Rated Battery" and you will end up with every thread that ever had the word battery in it. I ain't got weeks to spend researching everything ever written about batteries. Anyone with a quick opinion would be appreciated.

I have an 02 Boxer (no compression release) that I always had trouble starting cuz of the week battery that came with it and because I replaced it with the same brand battery first time around. I kept it on a trickle charge and it was still a pain in the ass.

A mechanic I knew told me to put the HD battery in it, so I took the old one to the HD dealer and told him to give me one similar. It cost $90 bucks vs $120. The others lasted 2 years and this one is going on 4. And guess what, I never use the trickle charger anymore. Even when I have deployed for months, I came back threw the charger on it and it would quickly go to Full.

I know a lot of others are using bigger stronger batteries, but I have been completely satisfied with the HD and the price was better than any of the others at the time.

I am in the process of attempting to put a group buy together on the Braille Battery. I have been told by several members that the B-2015 is the battery to go with. I will be posting a more formal thread on this by tonight and hope to be able to make it happen next week. Click on the B-2015 and let me know if this is the right size and amperage.
Thanks,
Don

If anyone is getting 4 years out of a battery, then that's a damn good battery. I just got 10 months out of a Drag Specialties High Performance 310 CCA. Since it died in less than a year, I got a free replacement. I'll use the new one for the rest of the summer, then I'm trashing it for a Braille. Rocky has a HD in her Mastiff and it seems to be doing fine. I'll be looking for the group buy if the price is right.

I also use the Interstate battery. 90 bucks and no problems, but some on here say there not good. I haven't had any trouble with mine. When this one dies on me I'll probably go with the braille because everyone on here who has one swears by them. If I have the money :D

I'm convinced there are only a couple/few battery manufacturers that sell to resellers that slap on their own labels. I have had batteries vary in life from 1 to 4yrs, from the same source.

Best ??? Who knows....price seems to be consistent with warranty...and you don't need 4 or 500 CCA. What you do need is a battery that maintains the rated/consistent CCA throughout it's life. When I had a battery last longer that 2yrs I got suspicious that one day when I least expecting, least inconvenient day, I would need to go find a replacement.
