BDM Voltage Regs on backorder- Compu-fire?

My '07 Chopper is at the dealer getting a VR replaced under warranty. Only problem is, BDM's voltage regulators are on backorder and who knows how long it'll be before they ship? Isn't there a compufire VR that'll fit this model? The dealer says "no", but I've seen posts here where guys with other year models were running them. Is there an issue with the '07's where a Compufire VR won't work?

Yes, it's posted somewhere in the tech section by one of the previous emplyees at BDM. Easy fix.

If there is enough interest, I can work on getting set up with someone like Compu-fire and see what I can do price wise for forum members.

Just a thought

I have been waiting 3 weeks for a VR for my 07 pitbul...they dont know when/where they will come in - starting to tick me off.

Trying to finger out if there is a recall on these, but looks like it is the fuse/Cb prob not piss-poor quality on VRs...

Wondering why you would think the fuse/CB would be the issue? These things either work or don't and wouldn't think you would have an issue with them.

Would you happen to know the part number? I did email tech support at compu-fire and they said they didnt have a part for my application..

Yeah, my bad - I was referring to a recall (recall must be only pertaining to the fuse issue, not regulator issues).

dont know I havent had it off.. it was replaced under warrenty,, about 500 miles... the dealer told me it was a replacement model.. it has worked fine for 2500miles.. now I find out if it does fail bdm wont cover it cause it wasnt replaced with a bdm unit.. I didnt know that @ the time.. the shop was a bdm dealer @ the time.. gone under now.. but my bike is almost out of warrenty now..I know it is a accell cause I saw them take it out of the box & it had accell on it... I just dont remember the #..
