Am I reading here BDM is no longer making avialable EHC's and and other parts to keep the Dog's running? Is bankrupcy looming?
We get a lot of these "heard from an employee at a dealer" threads. If your real concerned I would email BDM directly and get it from the horses mouth.I should have been more specific "not available until Sept" Written by glodbergk9 "Help....need computer" I am certainly not attempting to start and rumors. I just found it a concerning considering Sept would mean an entire season for me.

what he said.I swapped out every thing except for the speedo/tach combo. Low Down's conversion is a good thing - it gets rid of the EHC, but I lost confidence in BDM electrics.Chacha, did you change out the entire system or swap it with the conversion from Low Down Choppers? I want to do something to keep riding my K-9 and would appreciatrre to hear about any and all ideas. I have not found anything yet I would be willing to replace it with.
I remember when HD had major problems, does anybody remember AMF. I beleive that if BDM makes it through 2010 they will survive. Fad that has died?, Everyone I know or meet love these bikes and tink they are badass bikes, even the hardcore HD owners, sure the baggers are in but the fat tire choppers will always rule!the reality is that the company is just nursing a bleeding wound. and i take my hat off to them for doing it this long. however, eventually the blood will all leak out. it would be nice if the company received a windfall from investors to carry them for the next 5-7 years to fund their R&D and expansion into foreign markets. as well as to provide a lifeline to comfort them through the rebound of this nightmare called an economy.more like the great depression that politicians & media disguise for political correctness. so lets be politically correct and say THE SLOW ECONOMY.... "TELL THAT TO THE UNEMPLOYED". then brace for the bitch slap in the mouth that they offer you.
unfortunately its hard for BDM to find investors to provide what is necessary because the business was built and expanded on a TREND. the trend has now died, and even if the sales were better. they would still not be equal to that of which the company was expanded to be.such as in its peak of 2003-2005. it would just be constant funding and no profit. does not matter what you do as a company, in the end if the product is not selling. then there are no sales. meaning there is no money. such is happening now, and its trickled down the scale. with more and more dealers closing those that own bikes are very limited to get the help they need for recalls or warranty or just work in general.NOT A PROBLEM IF YOU LOVE TO WORK ON YOUR OWN BIKE and can find an after market part to substitute .. but a major issue for the guy that just paid 27k for a new k-9 and wants to ride ...but his bike will be sitting at the dealership for a few weeks while he waits for a part. hats of to big dog especially in these times for still standing. especially since most have folded such as american iron horse and others. and its great that there are those such as the people in this forum that are trying to help by purchasing new big dogs or existing inventory if they are capable. however that is not enough to save the company. and as the slow bleeding continues, then the customer service, parts and dealership support will continue to be less than what it previously was. simply due to lack of staff. on a positive note, if you purchase a big dog and do not mind working on it yourself, these issues wont effect you and you will have a very unique bike that you wont see many riding around. however if you are not the do it yourself type. then be prepared if there is a problem to have your bike parked for a while until they can get to it.
Why do you need your dealer to get you valve box gaskets (I assume you mean Rocker boxes). They are S&S and any bike shop can order them for you, they are not BDM specific.I cant get VRs, valve box gaskets where also and issue. I fear a looming impedance to getting service/parts in the near future.
Just doenst mix well with USA BigDogs

I use to work for that dealer and quit before all the BMWs arrived. BMW had them jumping thru hoops and had to have everything their way including the wall color and amount of showroom. It truly had nothing to do with Big Dog at the time. Not fueling the fire - but the dealer in Tulsa has brought in BMW and taken all of their show room except a 10' x 20' space for BDMs, and only have (4) total 09 models, no 10s, and obviously no 11s. I cant get VRs, valve box gaskets where also and issue. I fear a looming impedance to getting service/parts in the near future.
BMW? really? Just doenst mix well with USA BigDogs
