O.K. guys, as promised, I am posting the shifter side of the extensions since we got in a time crunch the other night trying to get done before dark. I had Benny(Postman) come over for a follow up and some photos. I must admit that my perfectionist attitude has cost me some more time before I can give the master template over to Kaptin. You'll see what I mean from the photo.
Here is the final product that I installed the other night, notice the angle of the shift petal that you must get your foot under to shift. Mighty tight ain't it!!
Here is a close-up, notice that the shift petal is the same angle as it was in when it was 6" further back. But as you extend your leg, the toes start to point skyward.
Here is the bracket I fabricated with the shifter removed, my mission now is to "clock" the shifter clockwise to rotate the shift pedal backwards so that the now skyward pointing foot can easily get under the pedal. Blue tape marks the new angle I determined to properly align the pedal.
Here is the shifter after being "clocked" in a clockwise direction.
And here is a overhead view showing the shift rod and the tight clearance. I trimmed 1/2" off the cone shaped spacer and the spacer bolt to get the shift rod to clear the frame.
Now I have drawn a new template and gave it to my cousin to fab up a new shifter side bracket. When I get it back from him, I will redo my install on the shifter side and make a master template for Kaptin to run mass production with. I will post pictures of the final "IMPROVED" shifter side and you guys can order away. As a side note, I do plan to fab up a 4" extension plate template for myself and I will likewise turn it over to Kaptin to mass produce for you guys. Hope to get this finished up soon for you fellow "Long Legs". As I mentioned before, I made this 6" kit for the 6'4" (Postman), I feel that it is a little long for me since I am 6'2 1/2" and I will do the 4" for myself. Hope to get the Kaptin in business soon!
