Disk lock holder

OK I was going to do a custom fab on my disk lock holder then show it off on this forum. I have been so busy with the k-9 tear down that I haven't had the time to worry about the disk lock thing let alone come up with ideas to customize it.


So here is my challange for those that accept it. Below is a crude disk lock holder ( basically 1x1 square alum.) mounted under the head light. Show us what you can do with fabbing a better/nicer/cooler disk lock holder. Also think of better places to put them. It's winter for most of us so plenty of time to get out in your garage and fab something up. We all await your pics/ideas.

Just to get my ideas out there, I had planned to refab using a smaller retangle piece of alum. Something that is a tighter fit so the lock won't rattle around. I was going to put a cover on the front, possibly have a flame design cut into the sides. The polish the crap out of it and ta-da instant bling that has a purpose.

Yeah if I could just make some $$ with these ideas to support my k-9 habit. the wife is getting a little snippy with all the charges on the credit card lately xXx carb, Power Pacc, braided lines and caps from Vickie, oil sensor cover, trans vent, etc. etc.

Here ya go, I fabbed it up real fast, chrome plated it, and packaged it. :2thumbs:

This is sold through Drag Specialties and is for the Krypto Brake Locks

and are available in two mounting hole sizes. I just never mounted mine.

I used the lock at Daytona and that was it. Part # 1703-3001

Here is what i do...

I can afford to buy a XXX carb, so, to keep from doing it, I keep telling
myself I'd rather have the PSI carb. I can't afford that. So I keep trying to save the money!
It works, Really!

Good luck!! First you have to pass the perimeter, then the shock & tilt, the ignition and the starter kill.... OH YEAH! I bet you could could cut a disc lock faster!

Count me in .. I keep mine in leather bag and its a pain to get it out. Would have been nice if this had been integrated into the front brake. Oh well, something to spend some more $$ on. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Well not to knock your alarm but been to hundreds of rallies over the last few years and the parking lot is always going off with alarms and everyone is just ignoring them as they do at the mall.

When I'm with a group we use our disk locks and daisy chain the bikes together. Cheaper, more reliable and takes longer to separate a bike.

When my clutch cable broke at Little Sturgis a couple years ago my buddy brought over his pickup and it took four of us 10 seconds to put the bike in the back and drive off (we had to get out of the way of tittie alley!).
An alarm is ignored and doesn't prevent four big guys to pick up your bike and put it inside an enclosed moving van and head down the road dealing with the alarm inside the van.

And the disc lock comes with a gravity coupler to lock the bike to the ground that keeps someone from doing the same thing? :roll: :roll: :roll:

Just kidding ya Ray. Bottom line is that neither the alarm (I have the Scorpio too) nor the Disc Lock ( I have a red one that I use for visual discouragement) will actually stop someone from taking a bike if they really want it. ( that's what my Glock is for :2thumbs: )

ALSO ... I've seen guys that have forgotten about their disc locks and have had a little bit of embarrassment with that sudden stop. :bang:

i bought the xena disc lock with the chain attach but I still want the alarm for extra peice of mind so even when there chained together with my disc lock I know your cuttin the chain and the four of you are liftin my bike into the pick-up Oh yeah the disc lock has a motion sensor to help out the forgetful

I was referring to daisy chaining the bikes together. You can see from lots of pics in my gallery where all the bikes are chained together this way. A lot harder to pick up 5 bikes rather than 1!

But your right and a single bike can be uploaded into a moving van and be gone before you know it with alarm or disc brake lock!

Really though, how many of you have passed alarms going off and just ignored them?

When I'm at ROT in Austin, we park two or three bikes together with mine in front then use a Rottweiler cable/lock to secure the bikes to each other. I set the motion/shock alarm on mine and we head to the bars for the night.

Best of both worlds :2thumbs:

Okay, I will be at the ROT and we can daisy chain our bikes with your Rottweiler and I will add in my Bulldog lock! No one will take off with them!
