does anyone know if either of the ones Al posted comes in the extended version (2.5" extension). i want to get extend my controls and would it if either of these will work.

Yep they'll work because the extensions are a seperate pc. that the controls bolt onto. Shouldn't be affected.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is in the "set" vs. just the pegs?

Just got your PM ! The set includes the shifter/brake pegs. For the front AND rear (passenger) you need to get a SET (163-000035-01) and then just the pegs (163-000034-01). That is if you want the passenger pegs.
