I need to know where the drain is for my tranny, I have had the dealer do my service, but with this economy I' don't want to pay the labor .Just finished my fork seals and that was cake.... ready for my 6 year makeover..help please!!

look under the right side of tranny same side as the front belt pully.... small allen head that pokes out just in front of the belt...

my bad i didnt see that yours is a 04.... not sure if its in the same spot....

yup!rt side of trany,very bottom middle allen,looks alittle different than the rest.not the oval cover,down under the cover!

On my '99 Bulldog (which is left side final drive) the drain is on the right side of the tranny facing out horizontally. It is a bitch to get to(requires removing the Bub exhaust on this bike). It is very low on the tranny and you will know it when you see it. I do all my own service since I feel that I am capable of almost anything! Ha!!! I'm assuming LSD....so it's on the right side of the tranny
it's the allen screw bottom center of the clutch cable cover...it's a small one and it doesn't appear to be a drain plug but it is....mine is flush to the cover....If needed you can go to the BDM website and download the service manual for your bike....it explains it all in a illustration

I purchased a manual back in '04, but its pretty vague .half of this 3 inch binder is full of pages for the shop to be able to download info from the bike to a laptop.See the salesman in Reno ,where I bought the bulldog, said he could not get an updated one and so one of the mechanics sold me his.They said they would get him another.I found nothing in it showing or telling me where drain is,just that it needs to be changed and at certain intervals.
