04 Big Dog Dead on the side of the road. help?

hey guys, first time posting here. i just bought an 04 bigdog mastiff bout 5 weeks ago. right after i got it home i rode 7 miles, 2 days later wouldnt crank took it to the shop ended up changing the ehc box. yesterday i rode about 150 miles and cruising in 6th gear 60 mph and it backfired 3 times and died. when i stopped i check the to see if blinkers and all lights was working. i had my right blinker wouldnt work til after i pressed it bout 10 or 12 times. i had no fire to the plugs. i called someone to come get me after 45 min i tried it and it cranked up ran perfect for about 75 more miles. then it popped one time and shut off (this was interstate 75mph cruising). all the lights were working properly. no fire to the plugs. this time it never recovered and left me stranded. what is yalls opinion ehc box again???? if it is i read about a bypass kit on here does that stop this issue. being on the side of the road is for the birds i love my bike and dont wanna sell it but i hate this crap. all opinions are welcome

Check to see if the rear tail light wires are rubbing, or have rubbed on your rear wheel. Mine did this and it did the same thing.

Also check for loose ignition wires at terminals or bad switch!

ok ill check when i get off from work. kind of a sucky design if any wires short anywhere it kills the whole system dont ya think lol. thanks guys ill check it out tho and keep ya posted keep em coming

when you try starting are there any lights on the EHC that come on? There should be an amber one and when starting a Green one should come on as well. Then on the thunder heart ignition module you're red light should be flashing as your cam rotates. Any of these coming on?

Wire plus is great for eliminating the ehc if that's your problem, but rule out common things first. plenty search info here. Good luck.

Don't rule out something as simple as a battery.

:zz2cents:well lets see,since your rt turn signal didnt work and your bike died and the no spark you might want to see if theres something going on with your rt hand control board,look for bad wires and such,also make sure that ehc is plugged in all the way,just sayn and dont forget your intro please

hey guys been workin hadnt had a chance to get on here. update was i took it to the shop and they said ehc is out again. so we ordered the wire plus kit hopefully thatll get my dog back. i love this bike! but i sure hope its reliability improves lol. ill keep yall posted thanks for the help.

which ehc did you have that went south?i replaced mine a couple of years ago and all has been good,knock on wood
