My biggest thing was the way they said you must had bought it from a auction. I figure they would knew where the big was. It was a left over 08 I bought from Xtreme Cycles in SC. it had less than 200 miles on it. Someone on the forum hooked me up and ran the VIN and does show the proper info on it. My next thing is I'm wondering since the dealer put accessories on it does that show on the records so they would be cover under warranty and if there are any recalls out there?
BDM history records don't necessarily show where accessories have been added and they don't fall under the vehicles warranty.
The service history only shows where service, repairs and/or Service Bulletins or Recalls "have" been done, not the ones that "need to be performed". The Service Bulletins and Recalls are sent to the dealers as they come out from BDM. It's the responsibility of the dealer to keep a record of these items, so that they my research them for your bike.
Sadly to say, many times the ball get dropped in this area by many of the BDM dealers.
Here's a little help:

There is not too many problems with the '08s, unlike some of the earlier years.
Also you can PM "BikerDream", a BDM dealer on here and ask him to run you off a print out of your bikes history record. :2thumbs:
I'm sorry, but I I still say that BDMs answer to this mans question was rude and ignorant! This is no way for any manufacture to replay to a customers question.
It's a simple question that anyone would like to know the answer too. Why bring up "auction", or "it doesn't have any history record"? That's BS!
Anybody that's dealt with BDM knows that the first thing on the history record is the RI (Receipt Inspection of the dealer from the factory), then any of the Recalls and/or Service Bulletins that "may" need performing prior to selling!
