I just purchased an 08 Mastiff....15 miles later the speedo quit. I called the dealer and they thought all of those issue have been resolved for 08. He then asked me If I washed the bike or got it wet, I replied of course I washed it. I was then told you cannot get the speedometer wet!...I just laughed.
I've been having the same problem with the speedometer not working about every other time I start the bike. The service manager at the dealer said that they checked the version of the software and everything is up to date. Supposedly the speedometers are so cheaply made that they shake themselves apart inside and we are expected to fork out a couple hundred bucks for a new speedometer every couple thousand miles. And what's this crap about not getting it wet???? It's a motorcycle, of course it's gonna get wet. What kind of pansy ass riders do they think we are? I'm seriously considering just keeping my Harley and selling the K9 if they are that poorly constructed and expected not to even get wet.
That's some funny shit. But True!
A lot of guys have gone with the Dakota for this reason. 2 year waranty and no headaches. I sell them on my Group Buy Page. They are on back order right now but I am told they will be available in 2-3 weeks. If you want one I suggest you purchase it and I will put it on back order for you. That way you will be one of the first to get them.
I had the same issues at 300 miles on my 07 k-9.Speedo would work at times then quit back and forth.BDM tampa ordered an new speedo assembly.Put it on and problem gone. There has been updates to it since 07.Circuit board problem inside speedo.I can't believe your dealer has not replaced the speedo unit.
